During his 20 years in the Merchant Marines, Bill has been chief engineer for 13 years. He is also an accredited Marine Surveyor for 13 years, and has been a marine consultant during that time as well.

Bill has been in charge of numerous types of vessels, including tankers, roll-on roll-off vessels, container ships, passenger vessels and research vessels.  He also has expertise with a variety of plant configurations as well as all auxiliary equipment required to operate a vessel.  He is an accomplished racing sailor, yachtsman, and recreational boater in both power and sail, and he has used this personal experience in his consulting and surveyor roles.

Bill is a member of both the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers and the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors.  He is a U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Marine Officer, and maintains a Chief Engineer’s license for Steam, Diesel, and Gas Turbine Systems of Unlimited Horsepower.
