Lee E. Martin, AIA, CBO, LEED AP
Architecture-Construction-Professional Liability-Premises Safety-Codes and Standards Expert

Lee investigates, reports and testifies regarding architecture, construction, professional liability, premises safety, and code-related matters. He has over 30 years of private and public-sector experience as an architect, design/build project manager, capital improvement program director, building official, and forensic expert. He has worked on buildings of various kinds, including high-rise office, residential and mixed-use projects, as well as aviation, health care and detention facilities. Tasked with reorganizing a number of large public agencies over the years, he has prevailed in every situation where his actions and decisions were challenged by affected parties.

To date, Lee has provided reports, deposition or trial testimony on matters involving fire loss, structural collapse, slip and fall injuries, automatic door injuries, professional liability, water infiltration/mold and mildew damage, hurricane repair/renovation and other types of construction claims. He has previously testified in court or in mediation/arbitration proceedings on matters concerning construction contract disputes, building code compliance and property condemnation.

Lee is an NCARB certificate-holder, and is currently licensed as an architect in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Illinois, and Florida. He is an International Code Council Certified Building Official, and a USGBC LEED Accredited Professional. Lee is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) national Committee on Codes and Standards, and the American Society of Testing & Materials (ASTM) E60 Committee on Sustainability. Other professional organizations Lee participates in include the US Green Building Council Central Ohio Chapter (USGBC COH), the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH), and the Proton Therapy Co-Operative Group (PTCOG).
