John’s diverse construction experience includes more than twenty years working as a Professional Engineer in civil engineering and more than ten years, prior to obtaining his engineering degree, working hands-on, operating heavy equipment and supervising construction crews. His engineering experience includes heavy / highway, bridge, and structural construction and design. He has worked on projects nationwide for general contractors and consultants on airports, sewage and water treatment plants, medical facilities, office buildings, bridges, dams, and commercial parking garages and lots.
John specializes in design and construction of reinforced concrete and structural steel, construction means and methods, heavy equipment operations, blasting, temporary traffic control zones and CPM scheduling. He is a P.E in ten states, NCEES certified, OSHA safety trained, and a member of several industry-related professional associations including the American Water Works Association, International Society of Explosives Engineers, American Concrete Institute, and the American Society of Civil Engineers, where he serves on ASCE’s Committee on Forensic Practice. He has also served as a Planning and Zoning Commissioner and on the Board of Building Construction Appeals for the City of Dublin, Ohio.

- Engineering Professional Liability - Expert Investigates Damage to Adjacent Structure
While construction was being performed on an adjacent site, the owner of an 80,000 square foot, two story office building complained repeatedly of vibrations in his building. After the construction was over he later claimed to have just discovered significant damage to his five year old building that could only have been caused by the vibrations. We reviewed the claimed damage, the original construction drawings for the owner’s building and the history of the adjacent construction.

- Embankment Failure - Expert Investigates Slip on County Road
An embankment failure caused a road slip on a county road, requiring approximately $25,000 in repairs. The County Engineer claimed that the adjacent property owner’s construction of a horse barn was responsible for the failed embankment and sought financial retribution for the county. Robson Forensic was retained to determine the cause of the embankment failure and whether or not construction of the barn caused or contributed to the failure of the roadway embankment and subsequent road slip.
