Dr. Volonino is author of Computer Forensics: Principles and Practice (Prentice-Hall, 2007) and the Principles and Practice of Information Security: Protecting Computers from Hackers and Lawyers (Prentice-Hall, 2004). She is a professor and chair of Information Systems at Canisius College. Her areas of expertise include computer forensics (including email, cell phone, PDA, and Internet forensics), electronic discovery, data recovery , information system design and contracts, cyber security, statistical analysis and project management.

She’s a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Associate Certified Fraud Examiner (ACFE), and associate editor of the Business Intelligence Journal. She is a member of several professional organizations related to computer forensics, fraud, and security, including the FBI’s InfraGard, ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association), and ISSA (Information Systems Security Association).

She is an international public speaker, consultant, and author of numerous articles on computer forensics in civil, criminal, and employment cases, information security, and internal fraud.
