Forensic Tire Expert

Our tire experts have extensive tire engineering and forensic experience. We understand how to determine if a tire failure caused a vehicle crash and why tire explosions occur during tire service. Our experts evaluate both design and manufacturing defects in tires and wheels, and use the Scientific Method to establish the cause of the failures. We have experience in the training of tire service and sales personnel and can evaluate the standard of care used by tire service shops in selecting correct fitments, mounting location, inspection and repair techniques.

Our tire evaluations include inflation, deflection, load, speed, road hazards, mounting damage and age issues. We are experts in tire designs that affect tread/belt detachment such as the use of nylon overlays and gum cushion strips. We evaluate the use and manufacture of retreads, causes of sidewall zipper failure, truck rim damage from heat or run flat conditions and OSHA required use of safety cages, remote fill devices and other tire service issues.
