
For over 30 years, Byron has been involved in all aspects of process and packaging food products: machinery, research, design, optimization, and maintenance. He has expertise with a variety of types of foods -- from pet food to fast food, from fresh poultry to fresh dinners – and has designed a number of processes including cooking systems, portioning, and extrusion. His work in packaging includes flexible pouches to frozen trays and bottled fluids. His career has also included work in clean room design and pharmaceuticals, specifically fluid piping systems and clean-in-place systems. He has designed a number of specialized pieces of equipment that improved production or increased employee safety.
Byron provides analysis of a variety of mechanical systems and processes, including contamination, foreign objects, conveyorization, automation, packaging, storage, cooking equipment and processes, sterilization and pasteurization, batching and size reduction, and machine guarding/workplace safety.
Byron is a registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania.
