Eric has a diverse design background that spans the complete product development cycle. He has taken products from initial concept through design, hazard analysis, prototyping, testing and manufacturing. Eric has engineered a wide variety of products, ranging from electro-mechanical machines to medical devices and sports equipment. He performed this work in compliance with national codes, standards & regulations.
Having spent considerable time on the manufacturing floor, Eric is solidly grounded in workplace safety, machine design, machine guarding, and OSHA regulations. He has designed, specified, and implemented guards, safe production fixtures, machines and entire production lines. Throughout his work experience Eric has implemented many different types of enclosures, barriers, and interlocks for the safety of the workers at his facility.
Eric holds two U.S. patents and has two others pending. He is a registered Professional Engineer in New York, New Jersey, Texas, and Pennsylvania, a PADI certified diver and a member of ASME.

- Strap Failure - Expert Investigates Product Liability Claim
During a surfing trip a strap that was holding surfboards to the roof of a vehicle broke and a plaintiff was injured when the strap’s buckle struck him in the head. Plaintiff’s expert claimed that the strap was defective because the buckle was metal. He proposed a safer alternative design consisting of lighter, plastic buckles, and stated that this proposed design would have prevented the injuries.
