We examine crash sites, use field measurements, scrutinize crash scene photos and perform accident reconstruction to determine if roadway factors were a cause of the crash. We determine safe curve speeds, sight distances, and fundamental roadway geometry. We evaluate roadway surface condition and drainage, roadway design, maintenance and operations, traffic signals and other traffic control devices, and the way in which humans respond to driving situations. |
