Matthew Robinson, ATP, CFII
Aviation Expert

There are many self-proclaimed aviation safety experts, but few possess the esoteric qualifications of an Official Aircraft Accident Investigator for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps like Matt Robinson. Through extensive training and hard work, Matt was designated lead investigator in a multitude of fixed-wing, tilt-wing and rotary aircraft mishaps in a variety of challenging environments from desert combat zones to snake-infested swamps.

Matt holds a B.S. degree in Professional Aviation and a M.S. in Aviation/Aerospace Systems safety from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. Matt is also a full member of the International Society of Air Safety Investigators and is a frequent lecturer to industry experts on various subjects including Controlled Flight into Terrain and night Vision Devices.

Since 1989, Matt has been an experimental aircraft builder (as featured in KITPLANES magazine), and is highly qualified to investigate incidents and accidents involving these aircraft – including ultralight aircraft not investigated by the NTSB or FAA.

With over 20 years of aviation experience and his Airline Transport Pilot and Flight Instructor licenses, Matt is a highly qualified aviation safety expert who brings his vast knowledge of technical crash analysis as well as operational risk management and aeronautical decision making to each investigation.
