Brian is a Civil Engineer with more than 35 years of design and construction experience in the United States and Europe. He is the current owner of Callagan and Associates, a civil engineering firm in Gig Harbor, Washington, with experience in both the public and private sectors. Throughout his career Brian has filled many roles, including designer, planner, construction supervisor, facilities manager and inspector.
Brian specializes in civil engineering site work and design; he has designed and supervised construction on a broad range of projects including roadways, trails, and parking lots; bridges and culverts; water utility and sewer systems; as well as commercial and residential structures. He has a strong background in planning, contract preparation, and CADD systems. Brian has performed inspections on a variety of structures including bridges, dams, and ski lifts. He also has experience in road and drainage inspection, soils inspection, dewatering, subdivision contract administration, and as contracting officer’s representative for a dam in New Mexico and an army airfield in Germany.
Brian is a licensed Professional Engineer in California and Washington and a member of American Society of Civil Engineers. He was previously a search pilot for the Civil Air Patrol and enjoys kayaking, fishing, flying, marksmanship competitions and skiing.
