Michael is an expert in the automotive group at Robson Forensic. His practice focuses on crash reconstruction and vehicle crashworthiness matters, with a specialty practice in vehicle restraint systems, including air bags. Michael worked in automotive engineering positions with Ford Motor Company and Tier 1 suppliers prior to joining Robson Forensic in 2008.
Michael was a product engineer in the restraints division at
Ford. He was responsible for designing, testing and implementing vehicle restraint
systems on passenger vehicles and light trucks. One of Michael’s achievements at
Ford was to improve the safety performance of side-curtain airbags. Michael has
validated and launched restraint components and engineered safety improvements
at both Ford and Tier 1 suppliers; this experience has proven invaluable during
vehicle crashworthiness investigations with Robson Forensic.
Typical casework for Michael involves vehicle design/manufacturing defects,
improper repairs to vehicles, and crash reconstruction including large trucks,
buses, golf carts, ATV’s, motorcycles, bicycles, and pedestrian knockdowns.
Michael’s passion for automobiles extends into his personal life where he is currently restoring a classic Corvette. Michael is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
