Angela Allen is an expert in student and transit passenger transportation with experience as a school bus driver and driver trainer, city bus transportation supervisor, charter bus/limo driver, and CDL driver instructor. She applies her expertise in school bus and city transit bus operations and safety to forensic casework involving bus driver actions, hiring and training, student safety, and transportation for children and adults with disabilities.
Starting her career as a classroom paraprofessional, Angela quickly realized that student transportation was more aligned with her interests. This led Angela to begin work as a school bus driver for Miami-Dade County School District, and after moving to Orlando she transitioned into a driver trainer and later a CDL Examiner – Class B. As the Training Representative for Orange County Public Schools, Angela had oversight of the district’s compliance with regulations for driver hiring, training, and directing transportation services for 84+ employees across 15 school sites. She was responsible for incident investigations, collaborated with Individualized Education Plan (IEP) teams on individualized safety and accommodation plans, emergency response plans, and coordinated paratransit for students in wheelchairs, with special needs, and other disabilities.
Angela has additional experience as a Transportation Supervisor for a large metropolitan transit system. With LYNX Transportation, Angela ensured strict adherence to DOT regulations and conducted both routine and as-needed remedial training for drivers. Her work included developing and managing preventative maintenance schedules for fleet vehicles and leading investigations of passenger and service-related concerns. Angela’s well-rounded commercial transportation expertise includes driving limousines, charter buses, and smaller door-to-door paratransit buses which included the operation of wheelchair lifts and assisting passengers with mobility aids.
Angela earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business from Seminole State College of Florida and is expected to graduate with her MBA from Southern New Hampshire University in the summer of 2026. She holds an active CDL Class B license with Passenger endorsement and is a Certified CDL Examiner. She holds additional certifications in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), Basic Life Support (BLS), and De-escalation Techniques for Transit Operators, among others.
