Don is a trained and experienced police and security professional with more than 34 years of experience. His comprehensive expertise comes from his work in all areas of the security field: as a police officer, a security guard, and a private investigator. He analyzes issues involving actions, policies, and procedures of private security details, police officers and departments, and premises owners.
Don has additional expertise in the areas of insurance investigations and building security. In cases involving insurance claims, he is able to review investigations as they may relate to claims of fraud or liability issues. In building security cases involving criminal actions, he investigates the actions of property owners and security companies.
Don has a B.S. in Criminal Justice and is a licensed Private Investigator. He is a member of many professional associations, including the American Society for Industrial Security International and the Reid Institute.

- Mall Security - Expert Investigates Assault in Mall Parking Lot
A teen was assaulted in a mall parking lot after leaving a late night movie with friends, and sustained head and face injuries. As the boys were crossing the mall parking lot, they were assaulted by men that exited from a van. Premises security expert, Donald J. Decker, CPP, CPM, was retained to determine if the shopping mall, the contracted security vendor, and the movie theater violated the standard of care for security at a shopping mall and created a dangerous condition that caused this incident.

CCTV provides surveillance that can allow the operator to detect criminal activities and record the camera footage. CCTV surveillance loses its effectiveness without a meaningful response to a situation.
