Products, Materials and Workplace Safety

For nearly 30 years Doug has been involved in the manufacture, research, and development of materials. Doug applies his extensive experience in materials science and equipment design to investigate product failures. Doug’s experience as a hands-on factory floor production and safety supervisor provides a “real world” basis for his investigations of workplace incidents. His teaching experience enables him to explain difficult concepts in ways that are easily understood.

Doug has held technical and managerial positions with GE Aircraft Engines, GE Nuclear Energy, Owens Corning Composites, Owens Corning Science & Technology, Coors Biomedical Company, BellSouth Chile, Battelle Memorial Institute, Edison Welding Institute, and SCI Engineered Materials.

He is a licensed Professional Engineer who also maintains a record with the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES). He is a member of the American Ceramic Society, ASM International, the National Institute of Ceramic Engineers, Keramos, and Tau Beta Pi.
