Dean L. Putt
Dean is a chemist who has spent his career developing and testing materials including plastics, paints, composites, foams, and glass. He also has extensive expertise in pyrotechnics.
For more than 30 years, Dean has been involved in research and product development of materials related to ceiling and flooring products, insulation, food and pharmaceutical packaging including child resistant closures. His credentials include overseeing the Consumer Product Safety Council’s (CPSC) protocol testing of child resistant closures and supervising the submission of various materials to American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) for approval.
His pyrotechnics expertise includes safety jurisdiction, event production, liability insurance, and NFPA regulations. He has spent more than 10 years working with pyrotechnics, as a shooter, director, and trainer. He is a Certified Safety Instructor with the Pyrotechnics Guild International (PGI) and has worked on a wide range of events.
He has a B.S. in Chemistry and is a member of various industry organizations, including American Chemical Society, American Concrete Institute, PGI, and National Fireworks Association. He is also well published and holds 7 patents.
