Lance is a Mechanical Engineer with over 23 years of experience in bus and truck engineering as an expert in design, manufacturing, maintenance, operations and testing including 19 years with the bus manufacturing firm, The Flxible Corporation. Lance consults with truck and bus fleet owners as an expert on fleet purchasing specifications, operations and maintenance issues and provides technical investigations, inspections, analysis, reports and expert testimony towards the resolution of litigation and subrogation in matters involving trucks and buses.
Lance has broad professional experience with heavy trucks and buses; at The Flxible Corporation he was Director of Engineering and Vice President of Research and Development. He had responsibility for total vehicle as well as component selection and approval and component and sub - systems testing and evaluation, also advanced vehicle design engineering including vehicle structural analysis, testing and certification to Federal and Industry Safety Standards. His expert specialties within-a-specialty include; Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as applicable to all types of transportation vehicles, wheelchair lift and ramp systems, wheelchair and passenger securement systems, towing and recovery of commercial vehicles, vehicle fire and origin cause investigations and shipping of freight in trucks.
He holds a Class “A” CDL with T, P and X endorsements and has over-the-road driving experience with buses and tractor trailer combinations. His hands on capabilities are evident in his ASE Certifications (Medium and Heavy Truck Technician, Truck Equipment Installation and Repair Technician, Medium and Heavy Truck Parts Specialist), and he’s a Certified Inspection Mechanic in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. His professional affiliations include the National Research Council – Transportation Research Board, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), and he is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers.
