Dr. Melodie Metzger is an expert in biomechanical engineering. She provides investigations, reports, and testimony toward the resolution of disputes and litigation involving traumatic injuries involving medical implants and devices, motor vehicle crashes, premises liability, in addition to workplace and sports injuries.
Dr. Metzger is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and has been the director of the Orthopaedic Biomechanics Laboratory at CSMC for over 10 years. In this role, she is the lead on all aspects of study development from design to the dissemination of results. Dr. Metzger’s lab has coordinated numerous detailed biomechanical analyses of the spine, knee, elbow, shoulder, hip, foot and ankle.
Dr. Metzger received her Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of California at San Francisco. She has published in the Journal of Biomechanics, Spine, the American Journal of Sports Medicine, Foot and Ankle International, the Journal of Orthopaedic Research, among others, and has presented her work at numerous national and international conferences.
