Alfonso Abate is a licensed architect and premises safety expert with a professional career spanning nearly 35 years. He has extensive practical experience from initial concept and design, through preparation of drawings and specifications, code review and permitting, and the construction phase. As a forensic architect, Alfonso applies his expertise to technical investigations and expert analysis on construction claims and various circumstances involving slip, trip, and fall incidents.
During a broad career, Alfonso provided leadership as project architect, project manager, project superintendent, and construction administrator. His experience includes a diverse range of building types, including multi-family housing, hotels, nursing home and assisted living facilities, municipal buildings, commercial properties, and industrial facilities. Alfonso’s eye for detail and success delivering finished projects as a construction administrator lends to his credibility as a forensic architect.
Alfonso is a registered architect in multiple states across the Southeast and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Board (NCARB). He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and is on the Board of Directors for the AIA Charleston, South Carolina Chapter. Alfonso is a member of the ASTM F13 committee on Pedestrian Walkway Safety and Footwear and is LEED (BD+C) accredited by the US Green Building Council (USGBC).
