Civil Engineer & Highway Engineering Expert

Benjamin J. Jordan is an expert in municipal and highway engineering with more than thirty years of experience working with and training municipalities, state DOTs, and facility managers. He provides investigations, reports, and testimony in matters related to the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of municipal infrastructure, streets, highways and facilities.

Mr. Jordan served as Director of Public Works and Village Engineer in Park Forest, Illinois. He has also worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation in design engineering, construction management, and materials engineering for highway construction and rehabilitation projects. He remains active in industry as a Program Director at the University of Wisconsin - Madison Department of Engineering Professional Development, where he develops and teaches continuing education courses for civil engineers, facility managers, and public works professionals. Benjamin is also Director of the Wisconsin Transportation Information Center, where he provides technical assistance and training to street and highway agencies across Wisconsin.

Benjamin is a member of American Public Works Association, (APWA), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and the National Local Technical Assistance Program Association (NLTAPA). He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois and is designated a Public Works Leadership Fellow (PWLF) by APWA.

Specialized Practice: Pavement Management & Winter Maintenance

Mr. Jordan has specialized expertise in the areas of pavement management and winter roadway maintenance. As a Program Director at the University of Wisconsin - Madison Department of Engineering Professional Development, Benjamin provides training to engineers, public works officials, and facilities managers on managing snow and ice control operations, specifically concerning anti-icing, de-icing, plowing and snow removal operations for local streets, highways and commercial facilities. Benjamin provides similar training on street, highway and parking facility pavement condition evaluation, pavement maintenance, and rehabilitation.
