The Human Factors Expert will apply human factors/ergonomics to the psychological and physical aspects of human-system-environment interactions. This application includes the analysis of tasks and jobs involved with tools, machines, consumer products and vehicles in the workplace, roadway, retail, and residential environments.
Background and knowledge is a higher priority than location. We are open to candidates anywhere in the US. Proximity to a major airport is a plus.
Desired expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Visibility, perception, and human information processing
- Hazard perception and reaction
- Driver behavior and performance
- Ergonomics and workplace safety
- Warnings and instructions
- Minimum of an MS in Human Factors/Ergonomics from an accredited psychology or industrial engineering program is required;
Ph.D. is highly desirable
- 5+ years hands-on experience in a human factors field beyond the M.S. or Ph.D. program
- Proven ability to work as part of a comprehensive team
- Excellent technical, analytical, writing, and communication skills
