Dr. Louis Wetstein is the Retired Director of Engineering at one of the largest academic medical centers in the country. For over 30 years, Louis has worked in a variety of capacities in the fields of medical devices and health care facilities.
Louis has a broad background in biomedical engineering, medical equipment, facilities management, infection control, water and air quality issues and administrative procedures in the health care setting.
During his career, Dr. Wetstein has been directly in charge of infrastructure projects such as the installation and commissioning of emergency generators, medical air and vacuum systems as well as heating and cooling equipment. In other capacities he's been directly involved in the installation of specialized medical equipment like fetal monitoring systems, bedside monitors with central stations, laboratory analyzers and X-ray equipment. He has also acquired applicable knowledge in computer interfaces to medical devices along with component-level technical troubleshooting.
Dr. Wetstein is a licensed Professional Engineer in New York and a Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician. His two Master's and Doctoral engineering degrees are all from Columbia University.
